With the imminence of President elect Trump taking office, Parliamentary Member/ Mr. Mohamed Anwar Sadat, Head of Reform and Development Party (RDP) raised an important question to the President Abd El-fatah El-Sisi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the Egyptian stance towards the US Administration intention to relocate their embassy to be at Jerusalem.
El-Sadat is asking: what will be the actions of the Egyptian government and Parliament? Is that decision will initiate angry responses? Or it will be seen as an attempt to satisfy Israel and in return the New American administration will take strong positions on stopping settlements and starting the two states solution negotiations. Mr. Sadat added, do Egypt has a scenario to deal with that issue, specially that it can extend to the rest of the Arab and Muslim countries, or Egypt will be negative or take unplanned actions like Egypt's recent attitude towards ceasing the Israeli settlements in the UN security council. This issue comes in a new era where Egypt is seeking enhancing better relations with the New American Administration.
He added that Egypt's and Arab countries' attitude mustn’t only be condemning and denouncing the decision. However, there must be a clear vision for concrete steps to find settlement for the Arab-Israeli conflict.
