Anwar El Sadat, Chairman of the "Reform and Development Party," warned Prime Minister, Ibrahim Mehleb, and the Minister of Transportation against a recent statement from the International Maritime Organization on compulsory inspection of ships in Egypt starting 2016. He clarified that this means excluding Egyptian ports from service and issuing warnings from dealing with them.
El Sadat warned against the effects of such a decision on the Suez Canal project and the Egyptian economy, which can put our happiness after the success of the Economic Conference at stake. He demanded that the Minister of Transportation and the Suez Canal Authority find a way to handle this situation without negatively affecting people's expectations and hopes for the new Suez Canal project and a better future for Egypt.
