Anwar El-Sadat "President of the Reform and Development Party" considered the raid that was made by some hard-liners on the services building of Mar-Mina and Abu-Sevene Churches in Shubra Al-Khaimah as a complete absence of responsible state institutions from protecting the places of worship or preventing any attacks on them.
He affirmed that what happened comes within a series of consecutive attacks on the churches that were left without any kind of punishment or deterrence, leading to inflaming the feelings of Christians due to the complete disregard for their feelings and violating their houses of worship in front of their eyes without any interference from the state bodies or even attempting to enforce the law.
El-Sadat stressed the need to reassure the Christians through messages and positive actions that make them feel safe and protected, through instant legislations and laws affirming their right of citizenship, non-discrimination and equal opportunities.
He demanded the presidency to intervene and discuss the escalating phenomenon of the large numbers of Egyptian Christians requesting migration and political asylum to some Western countries, so as to safeguard the national fabric of Egypt.
