El-Sadat collaborates with the demands of the National Council for Women

Although he could not attend the conference held by the National Council for Women last Monday at the Press Syndicate because he had to attend the meetings of the Constituent Assembly to discuss and review some of the important constitutional articles, yet Anwar El-Sadat (Head of the Reform and Development Party) expressed his full collaboration with all the issues and demands that resulted from the conference held by the Council. He further stressed the need to enable the women to become constitutionally in possession of all their rights to be able to shoulder all their duties on an equal footing with men.

El-Sadat pointed out the need to reconsider and amend what was rejected or doubted from the articles of the new Egyptian constitution concerning women, so as to ensure the dignity and right of the Egyptian women in all aspects and areas, to guarantee them all their rights and freedoms and to grant them all the privileges they earned after a long struggle for justice and equality with men.

This is the only way the Constitution can grant justice to the Egyptian women and family in general, by being expressive of them without any discrimination or shrinkage in their rights or powers given the multifaceted roles played by women in the Egyptian society, which are no less important than the roles played by men.
