El-Sadat demands a strong response to the Rafah ordeal, and directs an urgent message to the President

In response to the brutal attack which took place on the Egyptian borders in Sinai, the Reform and Development Party (headed by Mr. Mohamed Anwar El Sadat) demanded the Egyptian armed forces and the State's institutions to strongly confront these crimes, and to reinstate security on the borders between Egypt and Israel after speeding the process of determining the criminals behind this cowardly act, and explaining the full details to the public opinion. The party also requested speedy trials for all those involved in this criminal act, and also requested intensifying the presence of the intelligence to pin-point the identity of the terrorist elements and remove them from Sinai. The party sends its condolences to the families of the martyrs and wishes a quick recovery for the wounded and the injured.

El Sadat addressed a letter today to President Muhammad Morsi asking him to wait a bit on the issue of pardoning and releasing prisoners who were sentenced in criminal cases and incidents of violence and terror because of the bad security situation and the evident instability, and until he is able to address the people and assure them that freedom will not cause chaos or loss of more lives.

El Sadat confirmed in his letter to the President that he is not against restoring the rights of the oppressed or compensating them for the humiliation and indignity which they suffered from, and he explained this has to done within the framework of wisdom and justice, since this issue has become the talk of the city inside and outside of Egypt. Many people can sense the dangers we are in because of these difficult and unfortunate events.
