In memory of the October victory celebrations and within the frame of a renewed confidence with SCAF and in appreciation for the sacrifices of the men of the armed forces in peace and war, as well as in recognition of their great and striving support for democratic change and securing a peaceful transition and hand-over of power to the parliament and an elected civilian government based on the desire and will of the people and within a time-bound schedule.
Anwar Esmat El-Sadat (founders' representative of the Reform and Development Party) launched an initiative titled "85 million messages" aiming to have every Egyptian citizen send an SMS on the 6th of October expressing their thanks and gratitude for the armed forces, to be sent to special numbers that SCAF will announce soon, in agreement with one of the telecommunications companies. The income generated from these messages will be directed to the Fund of the Martyrs and Victims of the 25th of January revolution.
El-Sadat notes that his initiative achieves the perfection standards apart from any demonstrations or protests that might obstruct the freedom or mobility of others. It can be done by any Egyptian and whenever he pleases without any effort or additional burden. It also confirms our support and dedication for the armed forces in addition to supporting the Fund of the Martyrs and Victims of the 25th of January revolution.
