The Alliance for Arab Women recently expressed its willingness to provide support for Ms. Amira El-Assar, RDP candidate- women’s seat- north and east of Cairo district.
Ms. El-Assar met with Dr. Hoda Badran, Chairman of the Association, to agree on terms of technical support offered to Ms. El-Assar. This comes at a time when Egyptian students showed their willingness to support Mrs. Amira in order to encourage her in this electoral battle. Ms. Amira is preparing to contest elections against a very strong candidate Mrs. Zeinab Radwan, Deputy Speaker of the former Parliament.
Ms. El-Assar is truly a unique candidate and an inspiration to other young Egyptian women; she is the youngest quota candidate. Support from the Alliance for Arab Women as well as Egyptian students will be very helpful to Ms. El-Assar in her campaign.
