There is no doubt that the 6th of April youth movement formed a landmark in the history of the national struggle. Last year it moved the stagnant water in the Egyptian political life.
The movement prompted new blood out of the youth in the political field and draws their attention to public affairs. The Egyptian youth showed different spirit and their awareness of the issues which concern their homeland and that they have different language in claiming their rights, which put the Egyptian government in an extremely embarrassing situation.
The movement showed the struggle of the youth and their great sacrifices as they paid a profound price, especially after their cohesion with the workers of El Mahalla and several other places. They drew new hope as the spirit and national affiliation return to the heart of the Egyptians, who for a long time were occupied by the search for a living rather than participating in building the future of Egypt.
But we have to face the truth by ourselves in order to develop this dream, as it would represent a revival of real public demand for change and peaceful reform which is supported by awareness and knowledge, thing which necessarily requires the hard work of entities through legitimate or serious political parties. These parties can understand the capabilities of the youth movement and enhance the political programs and projects so that they can produce political alternatives on the ground.
So in order not to wake up one day by a nightmare of turning the movement to April's fool and abort the dream of the youngsters through increasing the diversity between some members of the movement or the intrigues of some symbols of the phantom opposition, who allege to advocate reform while you find them abandoners in the land of the real political battle.
Those will leave the youngsters struggling amid slogans, ideologies and words that inflame sentiments and fill the throats. That will lead to nothing except emptiness which will result in the domination of the ruling party without competition or confrontation.
What was accomplished by the movement of 6th of April is commencing the use of modern technology and the network to collect and enhance the youth as well as the people who were frustrated and desperate form the deteriorating situation of our beloved country.
It is a worthy achievement which needs to be empowered in order to attain the renaissance of our country which requires the efforts of all the loyal and honorable sons of Egypt.
