Anwar El-Sadat, Chairman of the Reform and Development Party, called on the President, the government, and all state institutions concerned to support the administration of arbitration and foreign dispute of the State Litigation Authority, and provide material and moral support to those in charge due for their sincere effort in arbitration cases filed against some Egyptian government bodies abroad and brought before International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes of the World Bank in Washington in which they ask our Egyptian government for substantial financial compensation for breach and termination of previous contracts and agreements.
El-Sadat explained that the last case of international arbitration which Magdi Rasikh lost is evidence that there is hard work, but it is only one case among more than 32 cases that require double effort. We should support the State Litigation Authority and help them do their part to defend the rights of Egypt in very serious cases that might cost the Egyptian government heavily if we don't fulfill our duty towards it, knowing that the rulings in such cases are final and that any failure would cost Egypt its reputation, the thing that would dissipate Egyptians' hopes of development and investment.
