An URGENT message from El-Sadat to the President

Anwar El-Sadat (President of the Reform and Development Party and a member of the Constitution Constituent Assembly) demanded President Mohamed Morsi to quickly convene a meeting for holding a meaningful dialogue with the representatives of the national and political powers to discuss and address the crisis caused by the recent constitutional declaration. This crisis has contributed to deepening the gap between the parties of the community and worsened the public rift.

El-Sadat added that this dialogue must be based on two fundamental tenets which are not compromising the independence of the judiciary and the need to finish Egypt's new constitution in a consensual conduit that represents all the Egyptians.

El-Sadat stressed that the situation in the Egyptian streets cannot handle any more political battles that can be exploited by some to accomplish gains at the expense of the homeland and the citizens. The people are waiting for urgent solutions to their problems and improving their living conditions while the world around is waiting to see the fate of the democratic experiment in Egypt.

Finally, El-Sadat called the president to take swift action by making use of the sincere sons of the nation before it's too late.
