El-Sadat: Kay Granger's hold on the aid to Egypt is a temporary position and does not call for fabricating a crisis

Anwar Sadat "Head of the Reform and Development Party, and member of the Constitution Constituent Assembly" considered the delay in releasing nearly half a billion dollars of financial aid for Egypt, by the Republican Rep. Kay Granger, as a temporary position not just targeting Egypt and hence it should not summon any reactions that would increase the ongoing tension, because the U.S. administration is after all keen on passing and approving this aid.

El-Sadat noted that what happened does not mean in any way that there is any tension in the Egyptian-American relations, but that the U.S. administration has always been constantly supportive to Egypt before and after the revolution, and that it hopes a democratic transition for Egypt and an economic development that would achieve the objectives and aspirations of all the Egyptians. El-Sadat confirmed that there is no need to exploit the situation or fabricate an unjustified crisis that can only offend the U.S. side due to their preoccupation with the presidential election and the ensuing political attitudes towards various issues, especially the Middle East.
