El-Sadat calls for an international conference to support the Egyptian economy


MP Anwar El-Sadat "President of Reform and Development Party" launched today an initiative calling for a national conference under the auspices of the President to support the Egyptian economy. Within the proceedings of the conference we will get the help ofEgyptians and international economy specialists to benefit from the experiences of other countries in this regard, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Argentina, and discussions will be run how to promote the Egyptian economy in this sensitive period of Egypt's history.

El-Sadat stressed that his initiative aims to discuss ways to boost the economic growth and attract more Arab and foreign investment flows whether directly or indirectly. This will also help restore the confidence of the Arab and foreign investors and internationalfinancial institutions which are closely watching the political and economic developmentsin the Egyptian arena.

El-Sadat added that the negative economic effects seen in Egypt during the past two years and the recently raised issues about getting IMF loans call for the pursuit of all Egyptians to recover the Egyptian economy so it can keep pace with the hopes andaspirations of the people after the January revolution. This will only come through the exchange of insights, ideas and knowledge experienced by other countries that have gone through similar circumstances and managed to overcome them and achieve realeconomic revival.
