El-Sadat after his return from Germany & England: The Germans and British will not lift Egypt from their lists of tourist destinations

Muhammad Anwar El-Sadat, President of the Reform and Development Party, returned yesterday, Tuesday, from a trip to Germany and England which he decided to take right after he read some disturbing comments by the hotels and tourism unions which aroused his fears from the threats of some German and British tour operators to lift the name of Egypt from the lists of tourist destinations being promoted for the next winter season, by stopping all the incoming flights until the Egyptian government announces the actions taken to restore the stability and security of the country, and the counter terrorist operations adopted after the Rafah incident.

El-Sadat confirmed that he met several high-level dignitaries and explained to them that Egypt is witnessing security stability and intensive efforts in order to prevail security throughout the country, and that any attacks on tourists or tourist places is an attack on the state that will not be tolerated at all. He pointed to the intensity and the presence of many Egyptian security bodies in the tourist places, and to the outreach carried by the media and the keenness of the Egyptians on being hospitable to their guests.

El-Sadat noted that the Germans and British have confirmed that they will not lift Egypt from their lists of tourist destinations being promoted for the next winter season. This summons the Egyptian Interior to be vigilant and careful in securing the tourist sites and Sinai at the highest level in order to send an assurance message to all the tourists intending to visit Egypt. He stressed that any negative event in the coming period will reflect badly on the Egyptian tourism which provides a significant source of Egypt's national income.
