El-Sadat: My proposed law for regulating water usage was ignored by the previous regime

Anwar Esmat El-Sadat (founders' representative of the Reform and Development Party) expressed his regret at the ongoing behavior in the society nowadays of misusing and wasting water. He stressed the absence of awareness about the upcoming phase where wars will be waded over a drop of water, at a time when Egypt is exerting every foreign effort to preserve its share in the Nile water to be able to secure its future and the future of the coming generations.

El-Sadat assured that his party has sponsored an earlier campaign titled "Our Water is Our Life" and he presented it to the old regime's cabinet but they ignored it. So once more he is presenting the very same initiative to the present cabinet to regulate the usage of water and reiterate the importance of rationalizing water usage through using modern irrigation methods in agriculture. He calls for endorsing a "water stamp" that can be levied for the luxurious and industrial usage of water and it can be imposed on golf courses, sport clubs, water parks, gas stations, private gardens of villas and mansions as well as all the tourism villages and resorts on both sides of the Cairo-Alexandria desert road... etc.

El-Sadat hopes for giving attention to this project that he proposed out of non but his national responsibility and to complement the effort that was done by a big team of experts, researchers and specialists particularly with the new regime and the sincere new government that is apparently trying to listen and encourage any kind of effort that is targeting a better future for Egypt and the Egyptians.
