El-Sadat suggests allocating 3% from the Taxes to enhance the Tax System

Mr. Anwar El-Sadat, Head of Reform and Development Party (RDP) submits a comprehensive proposal to the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee to develop and enhance the Egyptian Tax System. This proposal is in line with Article 38 of the Egyptian constitution which stresses the necessity to enhance the tax system and the importance to adopt new methods to guarantee efficiency in tax collection. The huge deficit cannot be alleviated unless we depend totally on our financial resources. He adds that we need to cease tax evasion and corruption. He highlights that we need to have financial resources to achieve this national demand.

El-Sadat suggests adding a new Article to Additional Tax Law. This law is under currently under discussion in the parliament. This Article stipulates cutting 3% of the annual tax revenue from the Egyptian Tax Authority with all its offices and branches to develop and enhance the Authority's Tax system. There are three aspects to be developed: Technology, institutions of the Authority and the Human resources implementing the levy plan. Mr. Sadat highlights that this proposal is the result of cooperation between RDP and a group of reputable employees working for the Egyptian Tax Authority. This vision is a reflection of their tangible experience in real life.
