El-Sadat calls Tarek Amer for holding a meeting with parties to discuss the dollar crisis

Parliament Member, Mr. Anwar El-Sadat, Head of Reform and Development Party RDP calls the Mr. Tarek Amer, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for holding an urgent consultative meeting with heads of Egyptian parties especially those represented in the Parliament. This meeting aims at exchanging opinions and discussing the options available and the decisions to be taken to solve the current foreign currency crisis. Such crisis led to a drain in the strategic Egyptian reserve of hard currency; a continued shortfall in dollar liquidity; and irrational prices of the dollar in the black market which led to a high cost in all products that millions of Egyptians are suffering from. Sadat also clarifies that the CBE or Egyptian banks should not take decisive deacons with respect to the dollar without consulting the Parliament Members represented by the People. Such decisions affect all the citizens without an exception. Alternatives should be offered to them clearly to take their precautions and that is for the well being of everyone. The complaints made by thousands of Egyptians abroad for tourism or studying are endless. They have restrictions on their cards for purchasing or withdrawal which made them in grave financial crisis in foreign countries. Such action should not be repeated again.
