Mr. Anwar El-Sadat, Head of Reform and Development Party, calls the Speaker of the House of Representatives for immediately convening the Special Committee approved by the parliament. Such committee is to investigate the reports issued by the Central Auditing Organization (CAO) on administrative corruption cases of approximately 600 billion EGP, as well as the Presidential Fact Finding Committee that responds to the report. The urgent demand is in line with the recent reports on conciliations made with the former leaders of the Ministry of Interior, their assistants and junior ranked officers as they took more than 1.5 billion EGP as special privileges. Sadat affirms that such administrative and financial cases revealed by the CAO report should be investigated to block the holes that resulted in wasting the people's money and public property.
The CAO should be enabled to monitor the administrative and financial performance of many government entities and sovereign ministries. Sadat stresses that the investigation and its findings will give a message to the People that we are serious in combating corruption and regaining the stolen money and setting the ground for sound corporate governance. We need to assure the Egyptians that everyone is subject to the rule of law with no exception.
