El-Sadat calls on the state officials to organize and secure the return of Copts from Libya and enhance churches' security


Anwar El-Sadat, Head of "Reform and Development party" called on the different state apparatuses, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Security Council and also church leaders to immediately urge the Egyptian Copts to leave the Libyan territories and make sure to organize, facilitate and secure their evacuation and return in the light of the deteriorating security situation there, which has become untenable after targeting several Copts with killings and kidnappings.


El-Sadat also called on the Ministry of Interior to set the necessary procedures and measures, to activate maximum alert, and adopt strict security measures to ensure the security of churches, monasteries, touristic sites, historical sites and public and private facilities. He also called on securing the highways and setting up the necessary checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the governorates to arrest all outlaws, and prevent the external and internal and elements, who aim to bring about chaos and instability in conjunction with the beginning of the new year celebrations, the Coptic Christmas and the parliamentary elections, which is the last step in the road map.
