Reform and Development Party: The President and his administration are the cause of the Renaissance Dam crisis and we accepted their dialogue invitation for the sake of responsibility and for the record

Anwar El Sadat, Chairman of the Reform and Development Party, confirmed that despite the disagreements and reservations on the means and approach through which the affairs of the country are managed, yet he will take part in today's meeting that was called for by the presidency for a dialogue about the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam from the premise that the issue of water is a national security issue related to the lives of all the Egyptians and the future of the coming generations along with being a main asset in the wealth of Egypt's agricultural, industrial and human resources.

El-Sadat pointed that participating in a case involving the security of Egypt's water and its main lifeline "The Nile" should not be set aside while we keep our full respect and appreciation for all the justifications and reservations taken on the presidential institution and its dialogues which proved to be mediocre and lacking of seriousness throughout the rule of President Morsy. But there are many visions and ideas that were adopted by the party through many of the initiatives and campaigns it took part in, and these ideas might be useful in solving the Renaissance Dam crisis, which was mainly caused by the president and his administration. We believe that it is the responsibility of the President to hear this from us face to face, for the sake of the record and so that history and the Egyptians would not blame us someday for refusing, as opposition, to participate with the president in discussing the solutions of a serious and important issue like the issue of water.
