El Sadat: El Gheryani has no Stance or Vote on the Judicial Crisis

Anwar El Sadat, Chairman of the Reform and Development Party (RDP), criticized Counselor Hossam Gheriani, president of the National Council for Human Rights and former President of the Supreme Judicial Council, for what he called his silence over the current crisis of the judges, as the Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters intend to pass a Judicial Authority Bill through the Shura Council in order to replace some judges with others who are loyal to the Brotherhood.

Sadat noted that Gheriani did not stir a finger despite being the president of the National Council for Human Rights and former President of the Supreme Judicial Council, or even as one of the judges. He did not even issue a statement condemning what is committed against his fellow judges, as if he satisfied with what is happening.

Sadat denounced Gheriani's attitude despite his prominent role in pressing for a completely independent judiciary. He seems to stand idly by despite knowing that there are intentions to demolish the Egyptian judiciary edifice and bring new judges who are loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood, which serves their interests, regardless of the state of justice and the rule of law.
