The Reform and Development Party, headed by Mr. Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, sent their sincerest congratulations to Dr. Muhammad Morsy the winning candidate in the presidential elections. Mr. El-Sadat expressed his confidence in Dr. Morsy's ability to cross with Egypt to safety, and he wished him success in the immense issues and important files awaiting him amidst this delicate situation Egypt is going through.
El-Sadat assured the need to respect the will of the people, irrespective of their affiliations and orientations from the premise that the elections were based on the principles and rules that we all chose, and the fact that the results went out to reflect the will of the people of Egypt. He noted that the time has come for reconciliation and reunification to work for Egypt and build a better future for us all.
El- Sadat thanked the judges who demonstrate every day their dedication, their patriotism and their high stature. He also thanked SCAF which cares for nothing but the good of Egypt and the Egyptians, and called on the Egyptians to renew their respect and affection for each other and work with an open mind that does not want anything but revival and glory for Egypt just the way they always did throughout history. He pointed out that the challenges ahead are so immense and that the most important of these challenges will be preparing and drafting a constitution that balances between all the state authorities, to be a new social contract between the ruler and the ruled through conforming with all the hopes and aspirations of the Egyptian people; freedom, justice and equality.
