I don't intend nor consider running for presidential elections, building my party is my top priority for now

In answer to what was brought up in some of the international media about his intention to run for the presidential elections, Anwar Esmat El-Sadat (founders' representative of the Reform and Development Party) confirmed that he is neither considering nor intending to run for the elections and that his major concern now is to build his party from all aspects as far as its potentials, its organizational framework and its collaboration with the people in the streets. He intends to give his undivided attention to its concerns and problems and prepare it with strong candidates to run for the coming parliamentary elections.

El-Sadat added that until a solid public front is built and until a strong public interaction base is established with effective and considerable presence for the party in the political life in Egypt, he will not be able to give his attention to anything else. He also added that he is not so fond of popping up in the media from time to time to give statements about his position from running for the elections and the he has no intentions whatsoever about this issue for the time being.
